  2. Select the item for which to add a Customer alias. The Adding Item Alias dialog box opens and displays the Customer ID and Name for the company you select and the Item Number, Company, and Description for the item you select. The Alias box is highlighted.

  3. Type the Customer alias in the Alias box.

  4. If this alias requires multiple units of measure, follow the steps below. If not, go to Step 8.

    1. Click the UOM box and enter the unit of measure for this alias.

    2. Click the Factor box and type M, for multiply, or type D, for divide.

    3. Click the Quantity box and enter the value to be multiplied or divided to obtain the alias's unit of measure. The Factor and Quantity boxes work together to calculate the ratio between the individual unit of measure and the box unit of measure.

Example: This alias is for pencils sold individually (EA). You usually sell pencils by the box of 12 (BX). You must divide your unit of measure by 12 to obtain the individual unit of measure. Specify EA in the UOM box, D in the Factor box and 12 in the Quantity box.

  1. Click OK to save the information you entered and return to the Item Alias dialog box.

Note: Click Exit to cancel the information you entered and return to the Item Alias dialog box.
