The Alias box is highlighted.

  5. Type the EDI alias in the Alias box.

    1. Click the UOM box and enter the unit of measure transmitted by your EDI customer.

    2. Click the Factor box and type M, for multiply, or type D, for divide.

    3. Click the Quantity box and enter the value to be multiplied or divided to obtain the customer's unit of measure. The Factor and Quantity boxes work together to calculate the ratio between the customer's unit of measure and your unit of measure.

Example: Your EDI customer orders pencils individually (EA). You sell pencils by the box of 12 (BX). You must divide your unit of measure by 12 to obtain the customer's unit of measure. Specify EA in the UOM box, D in the Factor box and 12 in the Quantity box.
