The Releasing Records function lets you release records that are protected. For example, if changes are being made in a specific record and someone tries to access the same record from a different terminal, the system protects the record until the change has been made, they have escaped from that screen, or the record is compressed or released.
One of the most common symptoms of protected records is the system system locking up when you select a particular record.
