About the Inventory Vendor
The Inventory vendor is used when you go live on perpetual inventory. Using the Inventory vendor, you can create purchase orders that are released to on-hand inventory without affecting any of your actual vendors.
On-hand inventory quantities are entered by receiving a purchase order to this vendor. By using this vendor, you can specify which cost (average, wholesale, or manufacturer) to reset when creating a purchase order.
